Learning for Life Programme

The Learning for Life Programme at West View Primary School seeks to instill in pupils, a passion for learning for life and an appreciation for the arts. Pupils learn how to express themselves and create opportunities for themselves. They are given many opportunities to explore and develop their strengths and interests, using their gifts to serve the school and community.

Programmes

The Learning for Life Programme consists of the programmes below:

Learning Journeys

During Learning Journeys, pupils gain aesthetic experiences and appreciation for the Arts through exposure to live performances.

Our pupils were given the opportunity to watch a French Theatre Drama Performance at the Esplanade. It was a memorable and enriching experience!

Our pupils had the chance to enjoy the “Mathilda Musical” at Marina Bay Sands. It was a wonderful learning experience for them as they learnt to appreciate the Arts!

Makerspace

The newly minted Makerspace is an area that provide pupils with opportunities to hone their creativity while they develop lifelong skills. Many engaging activities are provided for pupils to discover and explore their talents, while developing their design-thinking, observational skills, critical thinking and enhanced 21st century competencies.

Aesthetics Week

Aesthetics Week was an explosion of creativity, offering pupils a wide range of exciting artistic experiences. From community colouring and recess karaoke to quick-draw self-portraits and portrait tracing, every activity encouraged self-expression, imagination, and artistic exploration. The immersive experience further captivated pupils, transporting them into a world of creativity and inspiration.

The week culminated in the vibrant Fan Parade, where pupils proudly showcased their uniquely designed fans. Using recycled and everyday materials, they transformed ordinary items into meaningful works of art, demonstrating both creativity and a commitment to sustainability. Aesthetics Week concluded on a high note, celebrating the diverse talents of every West Viewan. More than just a week of activities, it inspired pupils to express themselves confidently, appreciate the arts, and embrace creativity as an integral part of their learning journey.

ACES of West View

Our distinctive programme provides meaningful opportunities for every West Viewan to discover and nurture their interests and passions. The school community watched in admiration as our talented pupils confidently showcased their abilities and celebrated their unique strengths. Through their inspiring performances and heartfelt sharing, pupils also demonstrated the importance of living out the TALENT Values while courageously pursuing their aspirations and dreams.

STRIVE Programmes

Pupils are immersed in various dance and music experiences, including K-pop dance, ethnic dance, hip hop, beatboxing, and songwriting workshops. These enriching opportunities nurture creativity, confidence, and self-expression, while providing holistic learning experiences that inspire pupils to develop new skills, appreciate diverse cultures, and embrace learning for life.

At West View Primary School, our birthday celebrations are always a joyful occasion! We come together to sing birthday songs, filling the school with laughter, warmth, and appreciation. This heartwarming tradition of celebrating through songs and thoughtful gifts strengthens our sense of belonging, fosters meaningful friendships, and creates treasured memories for all.
