Developing Confident Student Leaders at West View

A Day in the Life of a West View Prefect

A group of Primary 6 prefects work together around a laptop to discuss and develop solutions for school-related issues. Using the Design Thinking approach, they identified problems, shared ideas, created prototypes, and strengthened their teamwork, communication, confidence, and leadership skills.

Student Agency Takes Flight at West View

Primary 6 prefects collaborate in teams using laptops and craft materials to develop solutions for school issues. Their projects address late food purchases during recess, inattentiveness in class, unsafe use of scissors that damages table covers, and noisy behaviour in the library. The pupils designed and tested solutions such as monitoring systems, reward tokens, an educational video, and positive behaviour records.

Primary 6 Prefects’ Student Agency Projects

Fifteen Primary 5 pupils from West View Primary School took part in the Zhenghua Division Good Grocery Truck Initiative, helping to unload, pack, and deliver groceries to residents in need. The photos show pupils working together near a grocery truck, carrying boxes of supplies, and standing beside donated food items. Through this community service project, they demonstrated teamwork, empathy, leadership, and a strong willingness to help others.

Making a Difference, One Grocery Bag at a Time

Four Primary 4 pupils share what they learned from participating in the Term 2 Good Grocery Truck initiative. Their reflections highlight the importance of helping people in need, especially elderly residents and families who may not have enough money to buy food.

Pupils Reflect on Serving the Community

Primary 5 pupils reflect on how they became leaders by supporting their teammates during camp activities such as rope courses, abseiling, and low-element challenges. They showed leadership by volunteering, encouraging nervous friends, helping others overcome obstacles, and keeping their groups positive and united.

Primary 5 pupils reflect on how they demonstrated leadership during rock climbing, low-element activities, paragliding, and hiking. They supported their teammates by teaching, encouraging, comforting, watching over their safety, and helping to carry heavy bags.
