2019
Celebrate our staff's achievements in 2019, from LEAP Award wins to sharing best teaching practices at cluster events.
MOE Service Excellence Award (MSEA) 2019

We are delighted to share that our Chinese Language teachers Mdm Li Hongyu and Mdm Shi Yuanna have been nominated by parents and pupils for the Listening Educator for Advancement and Progress Award 2019 [LEAP Award 2019], by the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan [SHHK] and they have received the Certificate of Commendation.
The LEAP Award was launched by our late former President SR Nathan in 2011, and awarded by SHHK, to recognise exceptional teachers who have made a positive impact in nurturing their students from the heart. The (LEAP) award signifies a leap of faith for a teacher to believe that students have the potential to excel beyond their capabilities.
Congratulations to Mdm Li and Mdm Shi for their exceptional contribution!
Sharing at West Zone ICT Committee West Zone Community of Practice

Our Primary 5 Chinese Language Teachers participated in the West Zone ICT Committee’s (WZICTC) Communities of Practice for SLS. The WZICTC’s aim is to foster a teacher-driven professional development culture centred on students’ learning.
The teachers designed lessons to include the learning experiences using the SLS Pedagogical Scaffolds and design principles. The Primary 5 pupils were able to reinforce, apply and extend their learning on the core principles and ideas of the SLS Pedagogical Scaffolds through SLS activities.
Mdm Tan Hoon Hoon, Mdm Ng Ling Ling and Mdm Chan Wai Ling represented the team to share their lesson plan and learnings at the WZICTC meeting at Beacon Primary School. The participants found our school’s sharing to be very useful.

Mother Tongue Languages Symposium
Our Chinese Language Teacher Mdm Li Hongyu was invited by S1 Cluster to share her teaching experience at the cluster’s Chinese Language Learning Festival last Friday. The event was held at Holy Innocent Primary School.
The Learning Festival is a platform for Chinese Language teachers to connect, share and disseminate good teaching pedagogy and classroom practices.

We thank Mdm Li for her contribution.
