Good Progress Award for Chinese Language 2019
This year, our school has been working with the Chinese Language Unit (Primary) of MOE’s Curriculum Planning and Development Division and experimenting with new approaches to the Chinese language reading programme. Pupils shared their love for reading through designing an extravaganza of book covers, project displays and book reviews. Their work were sent in to participate in the annual Reading Superstar Competition.
We are pleased to share that one of our pupils Ker Zhi Yang (6 Empathy) has been awarded the Merit Award (Upper Primary Category). We hope with this recognition, the programme can continue to bring our pupils’ interest in reading to the next level, encouraging them to cultivate reading as a habit.
Congratulations to Zhi Yang for a job well done!

Scholastic Read and Write Challenge 2019
The Zhenghua Malay Activity Executive Committee (MAEC) organised OPS BACA on 16 March 2019, Saturday from 9.00am to 1.30pm at Zhenghua Community Club. Mr Liang Eng Hwa, MP for Holland Bukit Timah GRC graced this event as the Guest-of-Honour. Our principal, Mr Eddie Foo was present throughout the event to give his utmost support to our pupils and teachers.
OPS BACA aims to heighten awareness and excite pupils on reading habits as well as provide opportunities for them to showcase their talents. On top of that, it is hope that through reading, pupils will know more about classic Malay stories and build confidence through snippets of their acts and recital of poetries. Through this competition, we hope this would encourage pupils to be creative and have fun learning the Malay Language.
