West View Primary saw the opportunity and possibility of using experiential learning trail as a mode to carry out alternative assessment. Targeted at primary 3 and 4 pupils, the learning journey harnesses the use of cutting-edge technology in the teaching and learning of Science. It taps on the features of i-Phone, in a student-centric learning environment.

In groups, pupils embark on a trail packed with inter-disciplinary hands-on activities. They learn through discovery and experience, handling a mobile device that can capture pictures, audio, video, gather data and access on-line resources as well as built-in compass with GPS features. Data captured are uploaded onto a virtual blog which is made accessible to other groups to view and comment.
