10C' ICT-based Teaching and Learning of CL Project
   

Objective(s):

To promote pupils' interest in the Chinese Language, as well as to improve on their reading and writing skills in an interactive environment.
Synopsis:
Our school is one of the 20 schools in Singapore piloting the 10C' ICT-based Teaching and Learning of Chinese Language Project. The program is in line with MOE's "Teach Less Learn More" initiative, where much of the learning takes place collaboratively, intuitively, and is carried out according to the pace at which the pupil learns. The focus of the project is aligned to the Primary Chinese Language syllabus (2007) guidelines that emphasise authentic language use, as well as independent and differentiated learning.
 

Pupil-centred activities include: 

- Intensive extended reading in the 10C' website
- Computer-assisted writing activities
- Peer interaction using collaborative learning strategies
   
 Day: Daily, during Chinese Language lessons
